Telephone Systems

With many years of experience, Andrews & Arnold Ltd can provide a complete telephone system for your business, whether a small office or a multi-site multi-national enterprise. We have worked on systems from off the shelf 6-seat ISDN systems up to multi-building campus systems for colleagues with individual student billing systems covering hundreds of students.

Combining expertise in telephone systems, voice over IP, firewalling/traffic shaping and broadband internet - we can provide a solution that will allow seamless integration of branch offices and home workers into an integrated, company-wide phone system.

The system itself is based on standard server hardware, so can be built to your specification, including redundant disk arrays (RAID), redundant power supplies and rack mounting. We can however provide economical systems to simply bolt in to your wiring rack. A range of phones are available, and more are coming on to the market every day. We are SNOM dealers and can supply the excellent SNOM190 phone.

Systems can easily be tailor made to meet your needs. If you have your own IT support or software engineers, then they will easily be able to integrate your business processes with your telephone systems in ways you never thought possible.

One stop shop

We can handle your phone system requirements:-

We also work closely with a number of trusted consultants to provide software development, accounts and document management systems and much more.

But don't be put off - we are happy to provide some or all of the solution you require. We can work with other broadband providers, equipment providers and telcos as needed to ensure we do everything necessary to ensure your phone system is installed as you want it.

Starting small

Whether you are a small business with one or two people or just want to try out VoIP systems cheaply before changing your company phones system - we can help. We can provide a telephone number that works with a SIP phone connected to the internet. No phone system - just a simple phone on your desk at home or at work that works like any normal phone with a real phone number. There is no minimum term and the cost starts from £1.00/mon.

Imagine

Some real figures

As the system can be put together to suit your needs, it is difficult to pin down an actual price. However, if you are on a budget, it is not out of the question to have a primary rate (ISDN30) system for under £2000, and phones on desks for around £100 each. You should budget about £1000 installation and setup for a small site, but you can spend more to have more detailed training and customization as you wish. This is a system that can scale to thousands of users over multiple sites if necessary, and not requiring any of those annoying license costs associated with other systems.

Per port costs

Per port costs is one of the ways to look at the overall cost of a phone system when you have a lot of ports. It is usually the dominant factor in the overall cost of a system in a large office. Some systems have been highlighted for their low costs because they use normal phones instead of system phones that would have been £200 or £300 each. See a simple comparison...

Typical costing for a well known system using normal phones

Systems like this were seen as revolutionary as they drastically reduced the price of systems by such low per port costs. The price for a good quality IP phone such as the SNOM300 or even DECT base station and phone, is under £100, and may even be cheaper than that in some cases. The SNOM 300 has two network ports, so you use it in line with your PC. No extra cat5 port needed and no port cost on the phone system needed so that is the total cost of an extra phone on someone's desk.

See it for yourself

You are welcome to arrange an appointment to see the systems we use ourselves. We have always run the same systems we install for customers on our own sites and are happy to demonstrate.

Honest advice

We pride ourselves in providing honest advice on systems - in particular what they can and cannot do. The systems we are using now are incredibly flexible, but like every single system there will be limitations or constraints that may be important to your business. We won't hide these from you, and wherever possible we will try and find a solution that meets your needs. We use these systems ourselves so that we better understand how well they work, and we are happy to try specific scenarios and operational details on our own systems to be absolutely sure we are telling it how it is - just ask.
