For all of the inbound services, we provide a web interface that allows you to change how the calls are handled, on the fly, instantly. This is ideal if you need to change things because of something unexpected (such as a faulty phone system, or staff having to work from home, etc).
The simplest of services is a number that is delivered by SIP to a stand alone VoIP telephone, such as a SNOM300. Calls arrive via the internet to your phone. We provide a SIP server on which your phone registers

If you have a phone system, then we can deliver one or more numbers (often blocks of numbers for an office) to your phone system. This can be via SIP or IAX as you prefer. It is then up to you how you handle the calls - routing to one or more telphones, call queuing, voice messaging, whatever you want. We can supply, configure and maintain systems like this for you, at your offices or at a data centre.
We can route a number to a fax to email system. This then converts the fax to a multi-page TIF image format, attaches it to an email and sends it to you.
We can set up a voice response system, where prompts are played to the caller and they can key responses on their phone keypad. These systems can be simpler or complex as you wish, and we can design a solution to meet your needs.
We can provide a voicemail service where calls get a pre-recorded announcement and can leave a message. The message is emailed to you.
Where you have many phones connected to us, we can provide a virtual phone system allowing free internal calls between the IP phones and a degree of control of calls and voicemail as if you were running your own phone system. Features include call logs, and call recordings. Call recordings are emailed to you.
There are many types of telephone numbers which you can have. They have different meaning and costs to the caller, and can be a different cost to you. By default you get a SIP server login for every number and calls are directed to that SIP device - however uyou can change where your calls are directed via control pages at any time (to SIP, IAX, H.323, voicemail or fax).
The simplest type of number for most callers to understand is a simple normal geographic land-line number. Numbers starting 01 or 02. We can provide geographic numbers in most area codes.
We are also able to port existing BT numbers - allowing your existing number to be delivered by VoIP and so saving a line rental.
There is a block of numbers for VoIP services, numbers starting 056. These are seen more and more by the general public, but not generally understood. BT, for example, charge somewhere between local and national rate for them (on their standard full tariff). Some mobile operators charge more. Some have been known not to charge at all. We expect the charging will settle. The main advantage is that 056 does not say a location, unlike 020 (London) or 0118 (Reading).
It is also possible to get corporate numbering. We have managed this for ourselves, but hope to be able to arrange for our customers in due course - so please do ask. Corporate numbering (numbers starting 055) are a block of at least 10,000 numbers for a single corporate customer - allocated by OFCOM to that end user (company) rather than to a specific telco. Technically they work like any other number, and we have set up our 055 numbers to cost the same as 056 numbers. However, a corporate block will belong to the end user company and so could be moved between telcos if necessary.
We also have 0871 numbering which is a special case of number that costs up to 10p per minute from BT lines. We are using these for our free fax to email service where the small amount we received from incoming calls covers the costs of us running the free service. We do not offer any pay out to our customers if they have an 0871 number. Some customers do however like to have a number that is unlikely to get junk calls or faxes, so these are available for other uses if requested.
We are not currently offering premium rate numbers, mainly due to the complications of ICSTIS. However, if you have a need for premium rate services do talk to us.
Freephone numbers, numbers starting 080, are free to the caller, and you pay for the incoming calls you receive. See Full call prices rate I080 for details.
Ongoing charges work the same as any of our other ongoing services. You can pick a billing cycle, and we will bill you in advance for each period (e.g. month). You can terminate service at any time, but are liable to pay for any invoices already raised (i.e. pay to the end of the period) even if you terminate service before the end of the period.
There is a one off fee of £15.00 per number ported from BT.
We operate a free fax to email service, see www.fax.me.uk for details.
