Broadband regrades

Changing service

You can change the options on your broadband service, adding or removing enhanced care, annex-M, or premium whenever you like. Our broadband ordering page allows you to add or remove options from existing lines. There is no charge to add a service, and it usually happens within one working day. There is no minimum term for these services, but there is a charge of £10 for removing a service. When you order an adjustment is also calculated to allow for the number of days that have changed and have been previously billed.

How to change service: Click the order button and enter your account number and password. You then click on the line / phone number for the line you want to change and select Select Extra BT line options in the popup. You can change several sites in one go if you want. Then select Checkout and Place order to finish.

Changing tariff

You can change tariff at any time. The change takes effect from your next regular bill. Simply use our broadband order pages to request a change of tariff. Customers on very old tariffs can change to our new usage billing system on the order pages as well.

How to change tariff: Click the order button and enter your account number and password. You then click on the address for the site you want to change and select Change Tariff in the popup. You can change several sites in one go if you want. Then select Checkout and Place order to finish.

Changing line type

Subject to availability you can change between 20CN and 21CN; BT and Be back-haul; and to or from FTTC or FTTP services. Just order the regrade on our broadband order pages, and if available the change will be completed within a few days. The costs vary and are shown on the order page if the regrade is available. The cost is often the same as migrating from another provider, and for things like BE to BT change this means a full install price as BE is LLU.

How to change line type: Click the order button and enter your account number and password. You then click on the line / phone number for the line you want to change and select Check Upgrade Options in the popup. You can change several sites in one go if you want. Then select Checkout and Place order to finish.

Moving to a new address

You can order a new service at a new address and move your existing login and IP addresses. This means you do not have to re-program your router or change any of your settings. The new service has the same install or migrate charges as a new line, and the old service being ceased has cease charges. You can arrange an overlap or a gap between the two if you need.

How to move address: Click the order button and enter your account number and password. You then click on the line / phone number for the line you have. Select the move option and enter the new address/line details. Don't forget to select Checkout and Place order to finish.

Changing line settings

There are various line settings which Support can change for you, including uplink capping and line stability. It is also possible to change your line between ADSL1 and ADSL2+ which is useful if you have a router which does not work with ADSL2+ correctly. To order a change simply log in to the control pages for your line and select the required change. Older customers not on new tariffs just ask support to make any changes.

Customers with lines on Be back-haul can change noise margin, interleaving and annex-M settings in real time on the control pages.
