There are several aspects to your broadband ADSL package, many of which are included free of charge.
We dimension our systems and networks to provide an always on networkable internet connection. Customers normally use a router which allows many machines to access the internet at the same time, at any time of day or night.
As part of the service we monitor the quality of every line every second of every day. This continuous quality monitoring allows us to collect detailed information and so handle faults quickly and efficiently. We provide this to you as well, with detailed usage graphs and history. We can often address faults before customers are even aware of them. Our staff have a reputation with customers for no nonsense answers, and we have a reputation within BT for tenaciously pursuing all faults and issues. It's all part of the service.
Our tariffs are based on the amount of peak time download you will use. We do understand that people may not know what they will use, and so we have a range of tariffs which you can pick and comprehensive information on what you are using. You can change tariff at any time on the control pages for your line and that takes effect from the next bill.
The tariff is based on the amount of data you download at peak times (9am-6pm Mon-Fri) only. Usage outside that time, and uplink (sending to the internet) is not part of the tariff. This is a big difference from many other ISPs that charge for any usage at any time of day or night.
If you are out all day and so expect only to use the internet outside peak hours, then our lowest level of 1GB/month is ideal. This is only £18.99/mon/month for our Standard service. This is a special tariff where you pay for any additional peak usage over 1GB automatically by direct debit each month (to the nearest 0.01GB step). We do however email you each time you use another GB of peak rate download just in case you leave something downloading during the day unexpectedly.
We then have tariffs from 3GB/month which are simply charged each month in advance, and any over usage is carried forward automatically to the next month (up to 10GB).
However, you can pick what seems best and then see our comprehensive usage information on the control pages to decide on something different from your next bill if you like.
We offer two types of service, standard and premium. Both offer great rates of download, as fast as your line can handle on ADSL - so up to 7.15Mb/s (8.128Mb/s line rate).
Premium costs more, and offers...
You can change from Standard to Premium at any time for a small regrade fee of £1.00.
You can change from Premium to Standard at any time for a small regrade fee of £9.99.

We offer a choice of routers, or you can use your own. For each new line/service installation we offer a free router preconfigured to work out of the box. It is on loan to you while you have the service and then is yours to keep after you have had the service for a year. We have found this to be very good at getting the most from your line, often achieving higher speeds and lower latency than other makes of router on the same line. We have a choice of micro-filters to purchase (one for each phone on the line). Postage is charged at cost, normally £7.52.
If you prefer, you can purchase the router, rather than having a free one on loan. The Billion BiPAC 5200S is £29.99+£7.52 P&P. This is then yours to keep and use if you ever move to another ISP.
We also offer the BiPAC 5200G wireless router for £45.26+£9.69 P&P. This is a 4 port ethernet router with WiFi. For the more serious user, we also offer the CISCO 837 for £270.25+£9.69 P&P. This even supports IP6 natively.
We also offer a choice of splitter/microfilter. You can have one that fits on your master socket and filters all your extension wiring for £14.10, but this does mean doing some wiring and you have to have a modern master socket. The simpler option is a plug in splitter/filter on each telephone extension for £2.49.
We include one normal UK domain in the service for each separate site login. You don't have to pick one right away. When you do, it will be registered in your name as your domain. You can register a .me.uk, .co.uk, or .org.uk if you like, and for companies you could have .ltd.uk or .plc.uk matching your company name. We only charge £4.70/mon per month for an extra domain with email, and web space, if you want more.
A domain name can be used for your email, with any number of mail addresses. It can also be used for web space. Do what you like with it.
We include a virtually unlimited number of email addresses and mailbox with your inclusive UK domain. Email for extra domains is £1.18/mon per month. For each domain, regardless of the number of mail boxes, you can have up to 1GB of stored email on our server. Any extra usage is charge at £1.18/mon per month for each extra GB or part. The email services now offer spam and virus filtering and IMAP mailboxes.
We include web space with your inclusive UK domain. You can create a web site as you wish. Web space for each extra domain is £1.18/mon per month. We also have server hosting solutions if you want to run something more complex like an on-line shop, etc. Just ask. We allow a massive 1GB of web space per domain, regardless of number of sub domains or files. Any additional usage is charged a £1.18/mon per month for each extra GB or part.
When you order you can tell us how many computers you are using. There is no limit on this - unlike many ISPs. You can have real IP addresses for all of them, or use NAT (network address translation) if you prefer. We can allocate more than one block of IP addresses if you need (e.g. for a firewall link). We can even allocate IP6 addresses for you. There is no extra charge for blocks of IP addresses or static IPs. All of our services use static public IP addresses.
We provide the FireBrick hardware firewall solutions. These may be more appropriate for business customers.
